what is traditional chinese medicine?Formerly, the monks were responsible for the health of the village. Visited families on a regular basis and through different techniques kept the good health of the inhabitants, who reciprocated those services through barter.

The oldest book of Traditional Chinese Medicine is the Huangdi Neijing (Canon of Internal Medicine), written as a dialogue between the Yellow Emperor and his physician. Here we find the healing properties of pomegranate and rhubarb. KIWANG-TI Emperor used to bathing with these herbs for their joint pains.

Within China Tadicional Medicine, found different disciplines: acupressure, acupuncture, herbal medicine, aromatherapy, naturopathy, iridology, ear acupuncture, color therapy, reflexology and trace elements, among others, that make this drug to be as complete and comprehensive. The diets and massages are very important in the lifestyle these people, as well as the Chi-Kung.

It considers the human body as a microcosm which must vibrate in harmony with the macrocosm in which we live. An energy imbalance, or disharmony leads to disease. When the body is harmonious with the interior and exterior, is when we are often called health. To understand these disharmonies, we must know the theories of Yin/Yang and five elements, so efficiently handled within the Traditional Chinese Medicine.

It is fascinating to see a specialist in Traditional Chinese Medicine in action, since there are different approaches to reach the cause of the disease by detecting the meridians or channels that are blocked. The patient’s mood is very important because depending on the type of emotional disharmony have, will be the disease that manifests itself.

It recognizes the person as “individual”, which is why two people with the same disease, it will not be the same treatment to follow. They are two separate bodies, two different experiences, two different treatments. That is why Traditional Chinese Medicine is a holistic medicine, and which provides the harmony between body, mind and spirit.
