Traditional Chinese Medicine is based on the concept of Qi. The Qi is the energy that gives life to everything that exists.

We get the Qi:

1 – The energy that our parents gave us to conceive, “Heaven above”
2 – Qi Sun and Earth that we take through breathing, water and food, “Later Heaven”
3 – In addition we can absorb directly through certain energy centers.

In humans, circulating through the acupuncture meridians to influence the blood circulation (responsible for nourishing every cell) and the nervous system (responsible for directing the operation of each part of the body, the consciousness of every cell).

Health would be talking when the Qi circulates in adequate and balanced and flows freely without obstruction in each of the meridians. From this point of view the cause of the disease would be an imbalance of Qi: Emptiness, Fullness or Stagnation … repercussions later in the most material. Therein lies the preventive role of traditional Chinese medicine and Tai Chi. Balancing the meridians prevent disease before it manifests.

There are several causes of these energy derangements. Some of these include energy weather (cold, heat, wind, humidity,), poor diet, lack of or excessive exercise, poor breathing, uncontrolled emotions, stress….
