Today, the progress of science has allowed us to analyze the chemical components of essential oils with great precision. Accordingly, we have a thorough understanding of the molecular composition of essential oils. An essential oil contains many complex chemical bodies.
These are different molecular combinations have different properties. Thus, the structure of an essential oil is very complex and always has, not just once but many therapeutic properties.

Aromatherapy in Everyday Life -part 2-
The Greeks acquired their knowledge from the Egyptians, and improved. The Greek soldiers had ointments made with myrrh to treat war wounds.
Hippocrates, the “father of medicine, many medicinal plants mentioned in his writings. Dioscorides, a physician, pharmacologist and botanist, collected medicinal plants in many Mediterranean countries and catalogs – “De Materia Medica” – according to their uses, in five large volumes.
The knowledge of the Greeks and Romans were then translated into Arabic. The most famous physician, Abu Ali al-Husayn ibn Abd Allah ibn Sina (980-1037 AD) left us a document that describes about 800 plants with their effects on the human body. Aromatherapy in Everyday Life -part 1-

Aromatherapy is a holistic therapy that considers the person as a whole mind-body and that includes not only the symptom but the underlying causes of health problems. Essential oils act at both the physical and mental.
May be given in such a way that not only makes chemical level effect within the body, but also, being so powerful aromas, go directly to the spirit. This is why essential oils can help fight mental illness such as stress or depression, and without resorting to dangerous chemical drugs and their side effects.
Aromatherapy can help in daily life to treat common ailments (headache, colds, indigestion, muscle pain, toothache, burns, insomnia, etc..), But also has many other applications, for example for improving cosmetics or for use at home. Read the rest of this entry »
