Palmetto to treat prostate hyperplasia

Sometimes called the Palmetto Sabal or berry is native to North America. The berries of the plant are used medicinally for the treatment of prostate hyperplasia and used to treat chronic infections of the urinary tract.

The berries are used to treat testicular atrophy, impotence, enlarged prostate, low libido in men, and as a general tonic to nourish the body.

Other uses include treatment of infertility in women treated for breast (mammary gland) underdeveloped, increased lactation, painful menstrual periods, such as anti-inflammatory, appetite stimulant, and as a tonic and expectorant for mucous membranes, particularly the bronchi.
