Medical Acupuncture

Acupuncture is indicated to treat all sorts of diseases that affect the human body and can, in many cases, increase the results of medical treatment.

Acupuncture is an ancient technique, born and developed in China, which over the years has been incorporating Western medicine. Currently, it is a complementary technique recognized as such in many countries and that frequently allows improving the performance of conventional medical treatments.

The basic tool used to balance the flow of energy in the body is the needle. Through the placement of needles pricked on certain parts of the body, treat different diseases: stress, addictions, headaches, indigestion, poor circulation, etc..

Acupuncture distinguishes 14 meridians in the human organism, with 361 points distributed throughout the body, where they stick the needles. There are other points outside the meridian called “curious points” and other so-called tender points. “Custom Treatments

Celia Cruz Sanchez is a physiotherapist, exercise now, who treats his patients by helping his knowledge of acupuncture, as it has for many years studying and perfecting the technique. In the small town of Cadiz Benalup-Casas Viejas (Spain), Celia has his work room, where he acknowledges receiving “mostly patients with three types of problems: trauma, problems of obesity and psychological disorders. It’s all about the additional aid of needles.

However, each patient is different and personalized treatment, because “the needle placement and length of exposure to them vary with the protocol required for each disease.” In addition, the needles “can vary in size depending on the area where they are placed,” says Celia.

But the great effectiveness of acupuncture needles is in place at the right point and necessary. In fact, there are certain prohibited items. For example, for children is totally counter to place needles in the head.

Beyond regarded as an exotic medicine, acupuncture is a therapy in which the acupuncturist takes a very important role for treatment. His work combines a mix of specialties to resolve how best the patient’s problem.

Celia recognizes that success “depends more on acupuncture and the technique that the patient” and that sometimes leads a large part of psychological work.

Auriculotherapy, drug therapy through the ears

Acupuncture is a technique not independent, since their effectiveness increases when supplemented with other treatments. Celia consulted and find another technique widely accepted: the ear.

Consists of the stimulation of certain reflex points on the ears. It functions as a micro pressing is performed on a given point and the intensity and location of pressure, as in acupuncture, vary depending on the organisms being treated.

Other techniques based on acupuncture points

Traditional Chinese medicine has several techniques, although acupuncture is the most recognized and used in Western medicine. But there are other, especially three, who have to take into account: moxibustion, herbal medicine and Qigong. All have in common the stimulation of acupuncture points to improve energy circulation in the body.

* Moxibustion is a therapy based on the use of certain medicinal plant root, mugwort, which is shaped cigar. Thereafter it is applied to acupuncture points, like burning incense, heat radiating.
* Phytotherapy is the use of ancient herbs. It is recognized as a science that uses natural therapeutic resources for the prevention or treatment of many diseases.
* The Chi Kung is a physical activity based on breathing and physical exercise, which can perform as well as relaxing exercise for therapeutic purposes.

In short, a compendium of techniques that are not intended as competition of Western medicine, but to help and complement medical treatment. And the great proof of this is that in Spain there are already many sites where you can explore and develop the art of acupuncture.
