This is to purify the body by removing excess heat. It is the opposite to the heating method (Wen) and applies in cases of diseases caused by excess heat. For example, in sunstroke.

Reduction (Xia)

Is to reduce substance found inside the patient’s body, through a downward movement outwards. This method is usually applied in cases of constipation.

Sweating (Han)

As its name suggests, is to make the patient sweat. It is often the method used to treat superficial conditions and problems, most external causes.

Provide (Bu)

Is to improve the body’s energy and counteract the lack of bodily fluids. The inefficiency of the body to meet some of its functions is eliminated bringing more forces to the patient.

Vomiting (Tu)

This is to induce vomiting in the patient and is used in cases of poisoning or indigestion. Rarely it is used for conditions not related to the digestive system.
Chinese Medicine, an ancient complex system

The simplicity of this system in Chinese medicine, is only apparent. Each of these methods requires a huge preparation to take the right effect. Already the diagnosis of disease and indication of proper treatment is a complicated process that only a highly trained doctor in Chinese medicine can perform.

The implementation of each therapeutic method requires special conditions that must necessarily exist. The calm and peace of mind of the patient, the distribution and energy charge of the place where it is practiced, the status of specialist, every element involved in the application of the treatment must meet certain very specific conditions.

The complexity of this health system is that, apart from the methods mentioned above, there are other equally effective therapies that require the same preparation and layout. Methods that have been developed to form a more complex science of Chinese medicine with over the years. They are, acupressure, herbology, aromatherapy, naturopathy, Iridology, Auriculotherapy, Cromoterapia, Reflexology, as well, acupuncture, moxibustion, massage, herbology and surgery.

Chinese medicine, with its ancient tradition is one that has made more contributions to contemporary Western medicine, despite its methods, in simple apraciencia, Chinese medicine retains an incredible force in the world.

Chinese medicine, the patient is waiting for some kind of official recognition, as it happened recently in Japan with its derivative, more direct, Kampo Medicine.
