Advantages of goldenrod
The goldenrod is a herbaceous plant that can reach average heights of about one meter. The binomial name that corresponds to this species is the virgaurea Solidago. One of the features of the goldenrod is the presence of such alternate leaves and pubescent. The leaves of this plant are based on type stem, while the higher are lanceolate. The flowers of goldenrod are yellow and have a peripheral termination. As a result, the goldenrod plant gives a small achene.
In the chemical composition of goldenrod are substances such as flavonoids, mucilage, Sapone, tannins, diterpenes, polyphenols, and traces of essential oils (in percentages below 0.1%). The medicinal effects of the goldenrod that became known almost all over the world are its properties as a diuretic, astringent remedy, antiseptic, diaphoretic and antipyretic. Also, this plant with medicinal uses is also a very good antifungal.
The basic therapeutic use goldenrod plant may be in the form of decoction or fluid extract. The goldenrod decoction is prepared with one liter of water and this herb at a concentration of no more than 10%. After heating the mixture for a minimum of 10 minutes we let stand and drink.
